After completing his Masters in Business and Management Studies from M.E.T Institute in the year 2003, he started his career with Hindustan Unilever Limited in the Personal Wash Category where he delivered various successful stints within the organization looking at aspects like Brand Visual Identity & Brand Architecture, Integrated Marketing Communication, Research, Insights & Brand Equity Measurement, New Proposition, Product & Packaging Development & Deployment. Kochar with over 15 years of work experience in Brand Management is a Certified ROI Marketer and has worked in FMCG, media and loyalty companies before his stint at JetPrivilege.
New Delhi-based Anurag Mathur is a Partner with Strategy and Management consulting practice at PwC India. Prior to this, he has worked with Accenture and Nestle in India.
Anurag has a wide gamut of consulting experience working in business transformation, growth strategy, operating model and supply chain management across the domains of consumer goods, retail and e-commerce. Anurag has led large scale transformation projects with several global and Indian companies to develop and implement solutions for growth.
He also brings experience in new age areas of analytics and digital marketing and is passionate about digital business disruption in traditional industries and the transformation in businesses through data driven insight.
After completing his Masters in IT from University of Pune, Sunil Nair started his career in 1994 as a Computer Programmer for Shapoorji Pallonji and Co. After a year, he shifted base to Saudi Arabia and joined Landmark Group as Head IT. After a decade in this position, he transferred to the company’s Dubai office as a Business Analyst.
In 2007, Sunil joined Wipro as Retail Domain Specialist-Australia, where he oversaw program and delivery management for large retail projects, pre-sales consulting, client advisory and alliance management. A year later, he joined Madura Fashion & Lifestyle as Head–IT Retail, where he rolled out retail merchandise system, merchandise financial planning, assortment planning and POS solutions for the company.
After three and half years with the apparel brand, he returned to Landmark Group’s, to join the Auchan Hypermarket division. This company was a franchisee agreement between Landmark’s Max Hypermarkets and Groupe Auchan. As VP–Technology Solutions of Auchan Hypermarkets, India, Sunil completed an end-to-end Oracle Retail ERP implementation.
In 2014, he moved vertically to join the Spar India team, which is a Landmark Group and Spar Netherlands venture. In his current role as Sr VP–Technology and Business Solutions, he set up traditional IT infrastructure, including help desk, data centers and business systems as well as the tech landscape for omnichannel business. He also developed a digital strategy for the business, working with partners in IoT, virtual reality and proximity marketing, etc.
Amechanical engineer from Dibrugarh University and armed with an MBA from IBS Hyderabad, Chirag Boonlia started his career as a Software Engineer with Infosys in 2003, before shifting to Oracle as a Senior Consultant. In 2008, he joined JSoft Solutions Ltd as Senior Project Manager for Business Applications and after three years, he joined Aditya Birla Retail Ltd as Assistant GM-IT. He was later promoted to Deputy GM–IT, where he led the service delivery and infrastructure Management, along with supply chain management roll outs with Oracle and Infor WMS’ products.
In 2013, he joined Virtuous Retail as Assistant VP–IT, where he headed the IT, ERP, CRM and B2B integration across platforms and technologies for footfall implementation, infrastructure and storage management and disaster recovery management. Three years later, he was promoted to VP–IT where he initiated and innovated IT requirements for assigned business functions and their delivery in accordance with project goals, time scales and costs.
Chirag joined Embassy Group as Group CTO in February 2019.
Ranjan Sharma began his career in 1996 as a Product Manager with Futurecom, where he handled sales of IT infrastructure to leading corporates and developed a sales and maintenance team. In 2001, Ranjan joined Vishal Retail as Store Manager and within four months was promoted to Assistant Store Manager and later SCM and Logistics Manager. He was transferred to Delhi headquarters as Head–IT, where he successfully managed the IT deployment, which ran on Ginretail.
In 2007, he took the position of Head–SAP for Future Knowledge, where he built a low-cost IS-Retail practice to make the group completely self-dependent. After two years, he became the Head of Solutioning and Packaged Applications, and successfully steered a cost-effective application development and maintenance team. A year later, he was promoted to Head-IT, where he implemented Infor WMS, TMS and BI solutions.
Ranjan joined Bestseller in 2012 as Head of IT and Supply Chain Management, and is currently the CIO and Head of Supply Chain. In his current role, he is responsible for orchestrating the company’s IT roadmap, business process design, system and process implementation, solution roll-out, review, maintenance, etc.
Rahul is a professional turned entrepreneur with domain expertise in Health & Beauty retail and services. He Co-Founded YLG, a Bangalore based Salon chain along with his better half Vaijayanti, quit his corporate job at Future Group and moved to Bangalore to set up YLG in 2008. Both are engineers from different IIT’s (Kharagpur and Mumbai) and hold MBA’s from India’s best business schools (IIM Calcutta and Symbiosis).
With Rahul’s background in Health & Beauty Retail, his first instinct was to start a retail chain. However, a combination of Statutory (Retail FDI is not allowed in India) environment and investor interest (why don’t you start a Beauty Service business?) led both to think seriously if they wanted to jump into the salon business. A joint thinking period of over a month later, both were committed to building a Salon Chain which would consistently deliver world class services and products for the Indian woman at reasonable prices.
Prior to YLG, Rahul was Head – Wellness business for the Future Group. He built the Health & Beauty Category, set up the beauty salon chain “Star & Sitara” for the company. He was instrumental in setting up India’s first Gym Chain in Malls in a JV with Talwalkars for the Future group. He has played the pivotal role in setting up the Sachin Tendulkar – Future Group initiative “Sach”. Before Future Group, Rahul headed the Branded retail business for Arvind brands (Arrow, Lee, Wrangler and Excalibur). His entry in retail began as the Business Head of Health & Glow, which today continues to be the most successful format of its kind in India. Rahul started his career with the RPG Group, working at RPG Cables and Ceat Ltd, in various marketing & General Management responsibilities.
Vaijayanti is the co-founder of YLG Salons & YLG Institute, Bangalore based Beauty brand which operates over 60 salons. YLG is known for being a pioneer in the beauty industry and has transformed the quality of education and standard of the beauty services across South India. YLG Institute , the beauty training school of YLG was established by Vaijayanti in 2008, is accredited by the PMKVY( Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana), global certification body CIBTAC, is a L’Oréal partner academy, and has become one of India’s finest schools for hairdressing and beauty.
Vaijayanti is proud of having trained over 5,000 beauticians and hairdressers (Most of them women) till date which has given them a chance for leading life as a professional hairdresser or therapist and transformed their lives. She has been on the curriculum committee for the Beauty and Wellness Sector Skills Council (B&WWSC), a Jury member for selection of the finalists for World Skills Competition. She believes that educating women across social strata and underprivileged candidates is the best way of giving back to society.
Recently, Vaijayanti has been conferred with the Mahatma Gandhi Samman at the Global Achievers Conclave at the House of Commons, Westminster Palace, UK Parliament, London on Oct 25, 2018. She has also been conferred with the prestigious Bharat Jyoti Award in March’18.
Ramesh Kapoor has almost three decades of experience, of which almost 15 years have been in apparel retail. After completing his Chartered Accountancy, he worked with Tata International Limited, an export company from the TATA Group, for almost a decade and half. Thereafter, he joined Sports and Leisure Apparel Limited (LACOSTE) as CFO and in 2006, he joined Genesis Colours. In 2008, he joined Giorgio Armani India as CFO and after five years, he moved to Study By Janak, an ethnic fashion brand as CFO.
After a brief two years, he joined Numero Uno Clothing Ltd (NUCL) as its CFO and also heads the IT, HR, accounts and finance divisions. In his current role, he manages the financial, operational and related activities of NUCL, specializing in strategic financial controls, private equity planning, commercial negotiations, M&A, audits, planning, budgeting and consolidation of accounts with board reports.
