Optical retailer, Vision Express, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary in the country, recently strengthened its South Indian presence by opening three outlets in Chennai and Bengaluru. The new stores will boost its pan-Indian retail network which span over 170 stores across 32 cities. A joint venture between Grand Vision and Reliance Retail Limited, Vision Express was founded in 2008 and also marked its expansion into two new territories, Punjab and Madhya Pradesh, by opening outlets in Amristar and Bhopal.
Speaking on the occasion, Gurpreet Singh Bhatia, CEO, Vision Express, said “With the launch of these stores, we are making quality eye care available to new sets of consumers. Further, we are also strengthening relationships with the existing ones by giving them newer doors to walk in, closer to their residences.”
While the latest outlet in Chennai is located at Express Avenue Mall, the stores in Bengaluru are situated at Jeevan Bima Nagar and Margosa Road (Malleshwaram). These stores will house the latest contemporary eyewear trends, while offering a comprehensive six-step eye test, a process certified in Europe, conducted by qualified optometrists.
“The prescription eyewear market is witnessing 15% CAGR approximately. India as a market is waking up to the significance of protective eyewear and regular eye checkups. Consumer perception of sunglasses, such as prescription sunglasses, as a need-based product has occurred only in recent years. As an optical retail chain with over 120 years of international heritage being present in the country for a decade, we feel responsible for educating people about eye care and offer what is best for them,” said Bhatia.
Towards this end, the brand offers European styled sunglasses for sun protection and a range of contact lenses for extra comfort. For the fashion-forward consumers, Miki Ninn, In Style, Sensaya, Julius etc, are some private labels designed in Europe that it provides.
