Post GST, TopCorn grows by 30% as unorganized sector gets eliminated
In 1996, Vijay Chandrana was at Mumbai’s Sterling Theatre with his family to watch the latest blockbuster and decided to get some caramel popcorn, since it was the only theatre in the city to sell it. The sight of people standing patiently to collect their popcorn packets, even forsaking the movie, was his Eureka moment.
The very next day, he bought a popcorn machine and set it up at a friend’s shop at a shopping complex. 22 years later, TopCorn today sells its range of 30 plus popcorn varieties across 75 cities in India. It has sold over 3,000 popcorn machines till date and has also expanded its product portfolio to include steamed corn, candy floss, chocolate fountains, etc.
