Detroit-headquartered pizza chain Little Caesars Pizza has recently made its foray into the Indian market. Paula Vissing, Senior Vice President, International, Little Caesars Pizza, says, “We’re very excited to have opened our first stores in India. Little Caesars is a franchise business and having the right partner is vital. We believe that we have found the perfect partner in our franchisee Phoenix Nexus. Phoenix Nexus also owns several Little Caesars locations in the United States, so they have a strong understanding and passion for this business. The CEO, Nandish Patel, is originally from Ahmedabad and most of his family is still in the area, so he also understands this market and customer very well.”
Talking about her assessment about the Indian F&B market, she says, “The Indian QSR and pizza market specifically is expected to grow to $77 billion by 2022 according to recent reports, so we feel very confident there are a strong market and appetite for Little Caesars in India.”
In each market we operate in, we believe it’s important to feed families great tasting, quality pizza at an affordable price. In Ahmedabad, we have introduced a brand new, all-Vegetarian menu featuring a signature 10” HOT-N-READY Veggie Pizza for ₹159 all day, every day. Our innovative HOT-N-READY concept allows customers to simply stop in and carry out a selection of freshly made, great-tasting pizza and side items without waiting or ordering ahead. We also offer other pizzas and size items including a Tandoori Paneer, Spicy Veggie and Pizza Puffs. As we continue to grow in India, we anticipate the menu will vary regionally as we know meat offerings will be important in other regions. What won’t vary is our commitment to providing our customers unmatched value and great tasting, high-quality pizza.
The company will have several area developers who will have the right to develop a region and/or state(s) of India. It is actively seeking additional partners who are interested in the opportunity to develop other areas of India.
Talking about the future plans she says, “We are excited to grow in Ahmedabad with our current franchisee and are currently seeking additional franchisees who want to bring Little Caesars to other areas of India. We expect to see a lot of growth in the country over the next several years.”
