Indian smoothie chain, Drunken Monkey, launched new outlets in Navi Mumbai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, and Rajahmundry. Headquartered in Hyderabad, the smoothie chain has grown to 64 outlets over 19 Indian cities since it began operations in 2016. It plans to launch more outlets in the country and overseas, in addition to introducing smoothies with a more shelf life that can be sold in supermarkets.
Talking about the brand’s objective, Samrat Reddy, Founder and Managing Director said that he would like to change the perception of healthy eating. “I wanted to do to smoothies what Starbucks did to coffee. The younger generation are more willing to experiment with new brands and want a space to create meaningful social connections without restricting themselves to the regular coffee and chai outlets.”
Drunken Monkey has over 170 blended fresh-fruit smoothie combinations, ranging from fresh fruit shakes to indulgent smoothies, from detox smoothies to meal smoothies. Apart from some indulgent smoothies, all fresh fruit smoothies and shakes are 100% natural, made from local produce and do not contain any artificial flavors, preservatives or even ice.
